CAD = USD currency

As today, Canadian currency is almost the same as US currency. I don’t know what to say, is it the time to us (Canadian) is proud of? For me, I can purchase anything without worrying and converting to US dollars. 
Back to year 2000, US dollar is almost 50% more CAD.

It seems that the US dollar is becoming cheaper, it has been long that 1 USD =8.2 Chinese YUAN, and its 1USD =7.5 YUAN now.
