DIY Adapt for a Wrist Strap

Here is one of my DIY home-made adapt for a wrist strap. Using 10mm width polyester strap, I slotted right in the camera body and securing with stitched black string at one end. I also added a split ring the other end for any attachment.

New little beauty camera µ4/3

I just purchased a “used” µ4/3 camera from craigslist, the Olympus E-P2. It’s used but it’s really like spanking brand new and I couldn’t save myself from buying this little beauty. I still have a lot time to learn this new type camera.

This compact air compressor DeWALT D55140 is great for small jobs in the house to dust off some of your computer components. This compressor is really quiet featuring 71 dBA, 1 gallon, 136 PSI max.

Water Cooling SLi GTX560Ti

I’ve finally got all the parts together and finally updated my water cooling rig. Running single loop with GTX560Ti in SLi and CPU. The water cooling parts are:

  • Watercool HEATKILLER® GPU-X³ GTX 560 water block
  • Swiftech MCP 655 Water Pump with Speed Controller
  • Bitspower Dual D5 Mod Top Extreme
  • EK Dual Bay SPIN Reservoir with Flow Meter
  • XSPC RX360 Radiator
  • XSPC Rasa Black Acetal CPU block
  • Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1850RPM 59CFM @ 28db Fans
  • PrimoChill PrimoFlex PRO Black Tubing 1/2″ID 3/4″OD with 1/8″ Wall
  • Bitspower Ultimate G 1/4 Thread 1/2″ ID x 3/4″ OD Compression Fitting
  • Danger Den SLi Fitting Kit
  • Lian-Li PT-FN04 fan controller

As for computer parts I’m currently running with:

  • Case: Corsair Obsidian 800D
  • MB: Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD7-B3 with bios F3
  • CPU: Intel i7 2600K 3.4GHz
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance 4x4GB DDR3 1600MHz
  • GPU: EVGA nVidia GTX 560 Ti SC
  • PSU: Corsair AX850

Some photos:

Updated: After 20 minutes FurMark stress test the GPUs, the load temp is reading around 42ºC, for the idle temp is 30ºC (my room is 24ºC). I’m very happy with this result. Here is a FurMark screenshot:

I’ve finally finished my (tL) logo design. It’s for my personal website (thuyla.com) and my photoblog site (tLaPhotos.com). The logo was done in vector Illustrator and basically a type font logo, look simple and sleek huh?

Remove black background when viewing Facebook photos

The new black background popup feature in Facebook when viewing photos is kinda dump to me, so I guess it has to go. There are few methods to remove it with little steps in your browser.

Method 1:

  1. View your Facebook Photos
  2. Notice at the end of your browser URL, there is &theater
  3. Just delete &theater and hit Enter

Method 2:

  1. Using Firefox, install Add-ons Greasemonkey
  2. Open up this link and install the scripts for Greasemonkey
  3. Restart your Firefox

Enjoys your old Facebook style…

Disable iTunes autostart / sync

Would you hate how iTunes autostart/sync whenever you plugged in iPods, iPhones and iPads to your PC? I think there are few ways you can disable this autostart/sync features. To completely disable them, here is how to do:

To disable autostart in iTunes:

  1. In iTunes, under DEVICES, select one of your iPods / iPhones / iPads device.
  2. Over the right side, you will see Options.
  3. Unchecked “Open iTunes when this iPad is connected”

To disable auto sync in iTunes:

  1. In iTunes, select Menu > References… or press Ctrl+,
  2. Select Devices tab on top
  3. Checked “Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from synching automatically”
  4. Click OK
