Today, my new flashlight NiteCore EZ AA just arrived to my door. I couldn’t wait to “show off” a little bit my flashlight collection. They are:
- Fenix LD01
- NiteCore EZ AA
- Fenix P3D
- Fenix TK11 R2
In this collection, I think I like the P3D is the brightest torch and the most EDC torch is LD01. I think I’m a flashaholic at the moment but it can’t stop me yet.

As you know, all the Fenix TK10, TK11 and TK11 R2 flashlight have little gap (about 1.5mm) between the tail cap and the body (the grip ring). This can be easily fixed using little bit of sanding skill. Here is how I did below:
I placed a sand paper on a flat surface (I used 400 grit), and I started to sand down the bottom body until I took off about 1 mm is best. Remember do not sand to the treading.

I took out the original TK11 tactical grip ring, and use the spacer ring instead. So, here is the result is a tight fit and the beauty is NO more gap.

Enjoys.

Avira Antivir Personal is a neat anti virus software which you can download for free. Well, it’s not entirely free compared to AVG Free Anti-Virus because through daily update (by default) it would pop-up a big nag screen asking you to purchase a full professional paid version of the software which is Avira AntiVir Premium. Therefore, some may call it a nagware. Like most anti-virus software, it scans disks for viruses and also runs as a background process, checking each opened and closed file. It can detect and possibly remove rootkits. Avira updated all their products to version 9.0 as of March 2009. Here’s a workaround to disable its nag screen.
Windows Vista Ultimate x86:
- Open Local Security Policy through Start > type secpol.msc in Search box and hit Enter
- Click on Software Restriction Policies > Action > create New Software Restriction Policies.
- On left pane right-click on Software Restriction Policies > Additional Rules > New Path Rule….
- Click Browse and navigate to C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir Desktop\ and select avnotify.exe and then click on OK.
- Set Security level to Disallowed.
- Click Apply and then click OK.
- Voila, pop-up nag screen is history. Enjoy your free Avira Antivir
Note: For 64-bit version of Vista Ultimate, avnotify.exe is actually in C:\Program Files (x86)\Avira\AntiVir Desktop
Windows Vista Home Premium:
- Go to C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\avnotify.exe.
- Right-click avnotify.exe and go to Properties > Security.
- Under the group or username SYSTEM, click edit.
- Put a checkmark under the DENY column for “read and execute”.

UPDATED: There is a new program will fix this problem is called “Yammm” by mikinho
Download YammmSetup.msi (1084) here.
This is little program will automatic download all the DVD artworks and fix the folder.jpg problem in WMC.
Enjoys.
Windows Media Center version 6.1.7100.0 (WMC) integrated in Windows 7 RC1 has a little bit problems loading Movies folder image (folder.jpg). I’ve just found out how to fix it by old fashion Vista way. So here is how:

Open Regedit and locate to DvdSettings:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\
SOFTWARE\
Microsoft\
Windows\
CurrentVersion\
Media Center\
Settings\
DvdSettings\
Now, create a new String Value name “ShowGallery” and set value data to “Gallery“.
Restart your PC and start up your WMC again and will see all your folder.jpg as a gallery.

I sit around and ask myself HOW in the world I could use my HTPC to watch a Blu-ray movie rip from a hard-drive. Well, this was a trick question in my head before building a HTPC set. Now, it makes live so much easier to watch it.
Softwares you will need:
Basically, I’ll create an ISO image out of the Blu-ray rip folder in ImgBurn, then mount the ISO file with DAEMON Tools Lite, and then play with PowerDVD. NOW, the most important part is creating an ISO file to able to play with PowerDVD.
Here is few steps how:
1. Open ImgBurn and select “Create image file from files/folders“.
2. Browse and select a Blu-ray folder from hard-drive you want to build.
3. In Option tab, select File system: UDF revision 2.50 (VERY IMPORTANT)
4. Give the ISO a label in Labels tab.
5. Choose a Destination to save your ISO image file then click Build.
6. Sit back and relax.

I’ve just added my OCZ Core Series 64GB SSD to my HTPC Antec Veris Fusion 430 case. I used double-sided foam tape to attached the SSD on top PSU case (as you see images below). The pretty thing is that SSD does not create much heat and no vibration at all, that’s the advantage of it. I’ve left a little bit space on the right side if I ever wanted to add another 2.5″ drive beside it.

I just updated my Sony KDL 40z4100 TV to its latest firmware, it’s 203r and you can download it from HERE. What does this update do? It fixes some of the issues that people saying:
- White dots or sparkles intermittently appear on the TV screen when displaying the menu or playing a DVD.
- The television freezes momentarily, then powers off and then on. This can occur when the TV is tuned to a digital channel, or when auto-programming. Note: This issue only occurs with some broadcast channels due to incorrect formatting of service data on the channel.
- Problems selecting an HDMI input on a CEC device using the XMB Menu.
- Problems resolving the finest detail issue of some 1080i 60hz film-based content (mentioned in a recent PC Magazine article).
- Intermittent audio on HDMI Input 4.
- Photo Mode issue that may occur when performing slideshow Butterfly – The same picture sometimes continually displays, and the slideshow no longer transitions through the other pictures.
- XMB™ sometimes does not display.

IKEA Dioder lighting strip is a great set for your HDTV ambient back light. The set is included 4 light strip pack, I use 2 pack for the top and 2 for the bottom of the TV. It’s pretty easy to install. I’ve taken some photos for your viewing pleasure.
This is how it’s look like when Dioder light strip is turned on
